Police have confirmed that they have found the body of singer Scott Hutchinson of the group Frightened Rabbit. Hutchinson went missing on Wednesday, May 9, and his friends and family feared he was struggling with depression. He was 36 years old.
Police have not yet confirmed the cause of death, but it is not being treated as suspicious.
Hutchinson was last seen late at night at a hotel in Scotland where he sent two cryptic messages on Twitter. One read, “Be so good to everyone you love. It’s not a given. I’m so annoyed that it’s not. I didn’t live by that standard and it kills me. Please, hug your loved ones.”
The second said, “I’m away now. Thanks.”
His family said that they had “remained positive and hopeful that he would walk back through the door, having taken some time away to compose himself.”
His bandmates asked for help in the search and voiced their concerns for his wellbeing. “We are worried about Scott, who has been missing for a little while now. He may be in a fragile state and may not be making the best decisions for himself right now.”
Police in Edinburgh, Scotland announced that they had found a body at Port Edgar, near South Queensferry, at around 8:30 p.m.
His bandmates posted an emotional message on their friend’s passing on Twitter.
