Despite their best efforts, Prince William and Kate Middleton aren't going to be able to give their children a normal childhood. It's inevitable that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis won't have a childhood like yours or mine.
Coming from such a traditional history such as theirs, castles, palaces, jets, and photographers are the norm for this British family. These children are the most photographed kids in the world. It seems that every move a royal member makes, it's talked or written about.
William and Kate are doing everything they can to have their children be children. While there are protocols the royal children have to adhere by, they are seen frolicking around in grassy fields, playing with kid toys, and even seen having some meltdowns. However, one day, their children will soon find out what their future holds for them.
Take Prince George for example. He is third in line to the throne and will one day be king. As of right now, William and Kate are keeping that massive secret from him. Why? Because they want him to enjoy his childhood; you only get one.
According to reports, William and Kate are just trying their best to "protect him" from his future pressures and have him enjoy being five years old.
According to the "Mirror," the father of three said on multiple occasions how normal their life is behind closed doors.
"There'll be a time and a place to bring George up and understand how he fits in, in the world," Prince William said in an interview. "We are very normal."
According to Catherine Mayer, author of "Charles: The Heart of a King," she explained how much William struggled with his future role as king and the responsibilities it would one day bring.
One day Prince George will hear what is expected of him and the big news that someday he will be king. A five-year-old hearing such news may not even make sense to him or could cause unnecessary worry.
