There has been some sad news that has come in this morning. A world-famous singer was rushed to the emergency room after experiencing a medical scare.

At this time, we are asking our readers to keep the singer in their thoughts and prayers as she goes through this difficult and scary time. Fans have reached out to her via social media and thousands are extremely concerned for her health. Many celebrities have expressed their condolences and prayers to her as well.

26-year-old Selena Gomez has been hospitalized twice in the past two weeks. "TMZ" reports that the second time she was admitted was due to, what sources are calling it, an "emotional breakdown." She is now at a mental health center for treatment.

The first health issue happened at her home in Studio City, California at the end of September when Gomez experienced a serious medical scare. She had a dangerously low white blood cell count following her recent kidney transplant.

Gomez was released just days later, but she was re-admitted late last week after her low white blood cell kept causing problems. This caused Gomez to spiral downhill and now is in a mental health facility for treatment.

"TMZ" reports that Gomez tried to leave the treatment center, but her doctors told her she couldn't because she was having a serious "meltdown" and had "freaked out." Gomez tried to rip out her IV's from her arm, according to "TMZ" sources.

Gomez is currently at an East Coast psychiatric center and is receiving dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). She has had DBT in the past and has struggled with depression for at least 5 years.
