Going to the doctor’s is not a fun task. But it's something that just has to be done. Especially when you find out that you have hundreds of mites in your eyelashes.
Some of us are the kinds of people that will tough it out. Just like this woman, Ms. Xu, who lives in the Hubei province of central China.
She refused to go to the doctors after having itchy, red eyes for two years. She ended up becoming so used to the itchiness and the crust forming around her eyes that she ended up going about her life.
Ms. Xu would use over-the-counter eye drops to relieve some of the itch. It wasn’t until one day her eyelashes stuck together that she decided she should consult a doctor.
Finally, Ms. Xu made an appointment to see a doctor. When the doctor began examining her eyes, the doctor was astounded to find hundreds of eyelash mites. On one single lash, there were 10 mites.
After several questions and convincing, the doctors finally found out how she got all these mites. Ms. Xu admitted that she hadn’t washed her pillowcase and sheets in five years.
Ms. Xu was diagnosed with conjunctivitis and blepharitis. Luckily, she made a full recovery after proper treatment.
Ms. Xu reminds us that we should wash our sheets and pillowcases often. Consult with a doctor if you have any problems with your eyes. In other news, did you know that an unmade bed is a healthy bed? New studies show that this is the case!
