Shots Fired: 4 Dead, 1 Injured In Shooting At Kid's Birthday Party; Requesting Prayers

There has been some devastating news that has come in. At a young child's birthday party, four people were shot and killed, and one was left injured.

On Saturday, October 13, at about 5:15, police were notified of an altercation inside a home in Taft, Texas, which is about 19 miles north of Corpus Christi.

The dispute occurred at a child's first birthday party, and when police arrived, they found four men dead in the backyard of the home, according to CNN.

Witness told news outlets that the shooting started with "an argument over something real small and it escalated real quickly to where guns were involved," said Sgt. Nathan Brandley of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

During the shooting, most of the children at the party were inside the home.

20-year-old Ronnie Rodriguez Jr. was found inside his home and has been arrested and the police are searching for his father, 37-year-old Ronnie Rodriguez Sr. who was also involved in the fatal shooting.

The people who died were 62-year-old Juan Espinoza, and his grandsons 20-year-old Juan Sandoval III, 22-year-old Jeremy Sandoval, 25-year-old Nicky Sandoval. All these men were from Taft.

The man who was injured is 43-year-old Juan Espinoza Jr., the father of the younger men, and son to the elder man. He was airlifted to a hospital in Corpus Christi. He is listed as in critical condition, but is expected to survive, Brandly said.
