Surprising Reason Why Most Royal Wedding Gifts Are Being Returned; Value is $9 Million

May 31, 2018

Yep, you saw that right! The newlyweds, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, received about $9,000,000 worth of wedding gifts. Most of these were from big-name companies.

"One such company is Bags of Love that makes personalized swimwear and they reportedly sent Prince Harry and Meghan a matching bikini and swimming trunk combo in hopes they will wear them on their honeymoon," states one source.

Side note: Bags of Love has put the couple on swimsuits for you to purchase. Kind of creepy, but hey, to each his own. lol

The reason they had to return everything was due to royal protocol. The Kensington Palace official rules state, "Gifts offered by private individuals living in the UK not personally known to the Member of the Royal Family should be refused where there are concerns about the propriety or motives of the donor or the gift itself."

The couple wasn't upset by this and were of course allowed to keep gifts from their friends and family. In fact, they are donating their gifts to charity. Good for them!

Meghan did, however, give a gift to her closest friends to monument the occasion. Here is the bracelet Kate Middleton, and other close friends, received:

"The bracelets were made by Lisette Polny, founder of jewellers Zofia Day.

"She said of the item: 'It’s an overwhelming honor to be part of history and for my pieces to be given as a keepsake for this momentous occasion.'

“'It’s a really simple, elegant piece that’s just very true to her personal style.'"

Isn't it beautiful!? Furthermore, how generous of Meghan to honor her friends and family like this.
