Larry Gomez of San Bernardino, California, is embracing his hairiness. Gomez was born with a congenital generalized hypertrichosis, which is a rare genetic skin disorder. He quickly picked up the name, "Wolf Man," and truly embraced it in his later adult years.
When Gomez was a child, he was bullied. The kids ostracized him solely based on his appearance. As the years went on, Gomez was able to make a name for himself in Hollywood and became known as the world's hairiest man.
After his newfound courage, he ended up falling in love with a woman named Alicia Martinez. In 2011, they met when they both were searching for an apartment.
When filmmaker, Travis Hoefle, who is in charge of the YouTube Channel, "Wizard of Odd TV," caught wind of Gomez's story, he flew out to Chicago to meet him.
"Larry has three other family members who suffer from the condition, spread out over five generations," Hoefle said. "The women are covered with a light to medium coat of hair, while the men of the family have thick hair, covering most of their bodies."
In 2000, Gomez and three other family members were awarded as the hairiest family in the "Guinness World Record." In 2011, Gomez was featured in the hit movie, "Water for Elephants," acting alongside Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon.
