It's been a stressful several months for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. But their big day is upon them, and the world is excited to watch!
After the recent scandal with Meghan and her father, Thomas Markle, an etiquette expert told "PageSix" that the Royal family just made a major mistake. A mistake that could cost relationships within the Royal family and the Markle family.
William Hanson said that the recent fiasco is the fault of when Royals marry commoners who are not used to this lifestyle or commoners who cannot adapt quickly.
Regardless of how smart or wise a commoner may be, if they haven't grown up around this kind of environment, it will be very stressful, and mishaps will happen.
“My heart bleeds for Meghan, it’s not really what she’s banked on," Hanson said. “The Royal household should have sent someone out to talk to Mr. Markle immediately and others in Meghan’s family. But that didn’t happen, and it has blown up in their faces."
Meghan is coming from a completely different world. America is based on a class system that involves celebrities at the top. Whereas Royals, for example, take it a step further and are held to higher standards. A level that Meghan will need to quickly adhere to or more scandals could be on the horizon.
Meghan released a statement after her father's "photos-for-cash scandal," about him not be attending the wedding due to the recovery of heart surgery.
So who's going to walk her down the aisle? Hanson said that rather it be Harry or William, it must be her mother, Doria Ragland.
“It has to be her mother because it is symbolic, you are passing the bride over to her new family," he said and also added that she will need to take a "gently, gently" approach when it comes to entering the Royal world.
“This is an institution that has been going on longer than any of us and will continue to do so," he continued. "Meghan needs to remember she is a small cog in a very old machine. She has to remember it’s not about her, it’s about the causes she is going to be championing, her own personal beliefs are irrelevant."
