The plan is to break ground sometime in 2019 where all the fresh produce and non-perishable items will be free. The famous couple partnered up with Brad's alma mater Belmont University to open "The Store" in Nashville, Tennessee.

“This is a grocery store with dignity for people who have fallen on hard times,” Brad told the "Tennessean."

“All of us are one unforeseen disaster away from rock bottom. It’s nice to think about a place where when that happens to someone, they can use it to get back on their feet," he added.

“Essentially, we got this idea that it could be a very effective thing in Nashville.” Kimberly said and added that this was only meant to be a "temporary Band-Aid on the road to self-sufficiency."

“So many people are making great choices in their lives. It’s not like they’ve made major mistakes, they just need a little extra help and we want to be a resource for those people," Kimberly continued.

How It All Began

It all started last Thanksgiving when Brad and Kimberly took their two boys, Huck, 11, and Jasper, 9, to another charity organization called the Unity Shoppe in Santa Barbara, California. Brad said that their boys were acting up, so they took them to this place to learn a lesson on humility, according to "PEOPLE." While the lesson for their boys was great and all, Brad and Kimberly's eyes were opened and a light bulb went off. They wanted to do something similar.

While the sole purpose is to provide food, they also plan on providing a toy aisle during the Christmas season. They also plan on providing on-the-job training throughout the year.

Brad and Kimberly started with a donation of their own money of $500,000. The goal in order to break ground is $1.2 million for the total construction. "The Store" is located at 2005 12th Ave. S. in Nashville.
