A family was utterly petrified of a lizard they found under a bed in their house. They feared that the creature had somehow found its way into their home. They had no idea what breed it was, so they called professionals to take care of it for them.
The family called the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) in a panic to come and take care of the lizard. Vic Hurr, a RSPCA officer, was not sure what to expect when she approached the lizard.
Hurr didn’t turn the light on because she was afraid she would startle the lizard. Instead, she used a flashlight.
From far away, she noticed that it wasn’t moving at all. It seemed to be about seven inches long and was protruding from the edge of the bed.
When she got closer, she realized it wasn’t a lizard at all. In fact, the thing that had terrified the family was just a dirty sock.
Yep, the family called the RSPCA to help them take care of a dirty sock. Apparently, when Hurr told the family what it was, they were humiliated.
While she kept it together while talking to the family, Hurr couldn’t keep herself from busting up laughing when she got to her car. She shared, “The sock had obviously been there quite a while. It was a typical teenager’s bedroom, I suppose.”
Apparently, before leaving the home, Hurr let them know they might find another, “I advised the young girl whose bedroom it was to tidy her room and to take care of her socks but not before reminding her that another one will turn up soon as they are usually in pairs.”
Hopefully, when the other sock shows up the family knows what it is and doesn’t call the RSPCA again!
