October is a wonderful time. Because the weather is colder and the nights are longer, families often start to spend more time at home. Which means it’s a great time to marathon some movies!
There are tons of Halloween-themed movies out there. Unfortunately, most of them are scary—and that doesn’t work for a lot of families. Instead of having to wade through a bunch of those scary movies, check out these classic Halloween-themed movies.
1. The Nightmare Before Christmas
This movie is a classic. It was first released in 1993 and continues to be popular every year. While some fans believe this movie falls into the “Christmas movie” category, according to its director, it is a Halloween movie.
This movie might be too scary for young kids, but adults and older kids will love it. It’s extremely imaginative and a little creepy, so right in the spirit of Halloween!
3. The Addams Family
This movie was first released in 1991. This creepy family is definitely strange, but in the end they just want their family to be together.
4. Practical Magic
“Practical Magic” was released in 1998. It stars Sanda Bullock and Nicole Kidman, two witches who are cursed. The movie focuses on them growing closer together while trying to overcome some of their past problems.
5. Hocus Pocus
This Disney movie has been an essential in society since it first came out in 1993. Even now,
It seems that there is a new Hocus Pocus-themed costume or treat. If you haven’t seen it already, you should check it out this year.
6. It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
No list of Halloween movies would be complete without “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” It was first released in 1966. It’s now a Halloween tradition for many.
