Most people (at some point or another) have baked goodies for their best friends. Many people also say that dogs are man’s best friends. So why don’t we bake for our dogs?
It might seem like a strange idea, but have you ever looked at the ingredients in your dog’s treats? There are probably plenty of chemicals and maybe even some strange meat parts. Not anything you would want to eat at all.
Luckily there’s an easy way to ensure your dog is getting good, healthy food—by making them yourself! There are tons of different dog treats that you can make for your furry friend that will keep their tummies happy—and most dogs love them way more than the store bought treats.
That doesn’t mean you should just feed your dog any old biscuits that you make. It’s important to figure out what food is safe for your dog to eat. With a little research (and talking to your veterinarian), it should be fairly simple to figure out what’s best for your dog. Check out some of these recipes that are pretty simple—and your dog will love!
1. Peanut butter
Most dogs love peanut butter. It’s a great, healthy option for them, as long as they’re not allergic and you buy a brand with no added sugar (especially xylitol). Xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs, so aim for using a natural brand that contains only peanuts and oil.
2. Frozen yogurt treats
If your dog has a wheat allergy, don’t worry. These frozen treats are a great option for dogs with more allergies—or to help them cool down on hot summer days. It’s also really easy to customize to make it the right fit for your dog.
3. Frozen fruit treats
This video has darling dogs—and a super simple frozen treat recipe. This one is also a great recipe for humans. It’s a simple, 3-ingredient recipe for a super refreshing treat.
4. Chicken soup
This is one of the stranger dog treats out there. But hey, if you eat it, why can’t they? She uses all ingredients that are safe for dogs. What makes this recipe great is that it’s really similar to a chicken soup for humans, so you might as well make some for yourself!
5. 2-Ingredient Treats
This recipe is great because it’s so simple. All it requires is whole wheat flour and baby food. Again, be sure to figure out what food is safe for your dog before feeding them treats. Other than that, it’s nice and simple.
These dogs seem like they’re living the life! You can see how happy they are to get these special treats.
In other news, this dog did an incredible thing and saved a seven-year-old from a snake. Read the story here.
