Truck Crash Spills 12 Tons of Chocolate Onto Highway

May 09, 2018

A truck tanker carrying 12 tons of chocolate overturned on a highway in Poland, spilling its entire contents across all lanes of traffic in both directions.

Obviously, traffic was brought to a halt as the gooey mess created a sizable roadblock for everyone on this stretch of road.

From the news footage, you can see that all four lanes of the highway and brown goo oozing out of the tanker truck.

It is not clear yet as to how the truck overturned, but it wound up sideways across the road. Even without the chocolate, the road would have most likely been shut down.

Motorists had to wait for hours as the workers attempted to clean up the spill. Hot water was used to try to melt the drying chocolate in an attempt to remove it from asphalt.

“We have to remove the truck from the highway first,” said Marlena Kukawka, a media officer for the local police. “It will take a few hours or more to complete.”

A bulldozer could also be seen pushing the brown chocolate ooze away. The composition of chocolate on the road is very hazardous for motorists as it is more slippery than snow and sticks to the tires of the vehicles.

The driver of the truck is being treated for minor injuries.
