It's a tough day for the music industry. A famous country singer and his wife shared some heartbreaking news this morning about their family.
Walker Hayes and his wife Laney Beville shared a statement on Hayes' social media accounts about the loss of their child. The 38-year-old country star said that their seventh child didn't make it on Wednesday after Beville delivered the baby.
“It is with great sadness that Laney and I share with you the news that our sweet Oakleigh Klover Hayes was born this morning at the hospital and now is safely in heaven. Thank you for honoring our privacy as we grieve,” the statement read.
The high school sweethearts have six children together; three daughters and three sons between the ages of 2 and 11.
As the statement continued, it read: “Walker has canceled his immediate upcoming appearances to be home with Beville and their children. We ask that everyone respectfully give them their privacy in this difficult time."
During an interview, Hayes told "Taste of Country" that they were expecting their sweet Oakleigh on June 8 and were planning to have a home birth. During previous births, Beville almost had two children in the car while driving to the hospital, hence why they were planning to have the delivery at home.
When asked about their six kids in 2017, he gushed. His children are extremely supportive of his rising career.
“They’re so cute about it. They look at me like I’m Adam Levine,” Hayes said in December 2017. “They’re just kids, but them being proud of me means so much to me, and I can tell that they are. They are my favorite things about life. I love each and every one of these kids and I can’t wait for another one. They’re all so beautiful and incredible, and watching them grow is the best thing I get to do on earth.”
