In today’s day and age, there are a lot of gender stereotypes roaming about. One being men shouldn’t knit. Time to put the final stitch in that argument—here comes the “Male Knitter” and he is darn good at what he does!
Louis Boria has been knitting for some time now, and at first, he was self-conscious till he realized that it didn’t matter what people thought. What mattered was he followed his passion! Once he broke through that mental obstacle, he really set himself free to become the best he could be.
“Let’s just get over the idea that you’re being judged. Let’s just follow our passions,” Boria proudly stated in an interview.
And that is exactly what Boria does. Many of the patterns he has memorized by heart, as he’s practiced so much. How many of us can say that about our hobbies? We all probably look a little more like this pup below most days. lol
“I’m not trying to sound cocky about it, but most of my patterns I have memorized. I’ve made them so much that I’m executing them in 2-3 hours.”
I finally got how much knitting meant to him in the following comment. “I’d rather be crippled than to lose this,” Boria stated as lifted his hand to the camera.
