What is Each State’s Favorite Halloween Candy?

October 06, 2017

The product discovery and review company, Influenster, conducted a survey to find out what each state’s favorite Halloween candy was and the results are in. Did your state get it right?

Influenster aggregated their top-rated candy products based on product ratings and the phrase “Halloween” used in their reviews as well as a survey of over 42,000 people across all 50 states to find out what everyone’s favorite candy is.

The candy that was the favorite in the most states was the polarizing Halloween staple Candy Corn. When sorted by total votes, however, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups received the highest number of votes of all the states combined.

If this were a candy presidential election, we would be welcoming President Candy Corn to office, over runner-up LifeSavers (thanks to California), and the popular Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups winds up in third.

There were three candies that received votes in all 50 states: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Kit Kat, and Butterfinger.

It would appear that those in West Virginia didn’t read the directions correctly and voted for Oreo cookies, which are not a candy. It was a surprise victory for Swedish Fish in Pennsylvania as it beat out local candy Hershey’s. Also, Arizona has some rather expensive tastes and might bankrupt families across the state during Halloween with their vote for Toblerone chocolates.

Take a look at the map and see how each state voted. What stands out to you? Let us know in the comments!
