Some unfortunate news has come in this morning about a beloved singer and her admission into a mental hospital.
Former "Destiny's Child" singer Michelle Williams has admitted herself into a mental hospital located outside of Los Angeles, California. She says that she is happy she has dedicated herself to being more aware of her mental health issues and seeking medical attention has helped just that.
"For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it's time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing," Williams wrote in a statement posted to Instagram.
"I recently listened to the same advice I have given to thousands around the world and sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals," she continued.
Williams did not disclose her condition or conditions she is suffering from that prompted her to seek treatment, but she has been previously open about her battles with depression, according to "CNN."
"Today I proudly, happily and healthily stand here as someone who will continue to always lead by example as I tirelessly advocate for the betterment of those in need," she said.
"If you change your mind, you can change your life," she concluded.
Williams starred alongside Beyonce Knowles and Kelly Rowland in the successful 1990s girl group, "Destiny's Child." The group was known for their numerous hit singles like, "Soldier," "Bills, Bills, Bills," and "Cater 2 U." Fans are pouring out their thoughts and prayers for the wellness of Williams.
