A Houston woman is smiling today after all six of her babies were delivered safely within nine minutes of each other.
But, the fact that the babies are sextuplets is NOT the most incredible part of the story. Get this: The little darlings are actually three separate sets of twins! It’s true!
The babies were born shortly before 5:00 am on Friday at Houston’s Women’s Hospital of Texas. All the newborns weigh around two pounds and every one of them is considered to be in stable condition.
Of course, they will remain in the NICU until they have gained some weight, but everything seems to be going well so far.
According to PEOPLE, "Thelma Chiaka welcomed two sets of twin boys and one set of twin girls between 4:50 a.m. and 4:59 a.m. local time on March 15 at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas," the hospital announced.”
“The babies were born at weights ranging from one pound, 12 ounces and two pounds, 14 ounces,” hospital officials said in the statement. “They are in stable condition and will continue to receive care in the hospital’s advanced neonatal intensive care unit.”
The odds of having six babies during one pregnancy are around one in 4.7 billion, so that part the deal is one for the record books. But the fact that each baby had a twin is even more unbelievable.
Ms. Chiaka, whose age was not revealed, has shared the names of her twin daughters. They will be called Zina and Zuriel. She’s not telling the names of the four boys quite yet, though.
Congratulations to the new mother. Our prayers are for good health for the babies - and some SLEEP for you!

I, for one, wish this momma all the luck in the world. Already the mother on one child, these six new additions are bound to change that household in ways no one ever imagined. Let’s just hope she has LOTs of help!
